born in indonesia in 1995, raka suwandhi’s journey of self-discovery led him to germany, where his passion for film, music, and photography flourished. he co-founded the music duo r8ftop 27 alongside his twin brother, dimas suwandhi, and together, they consistently produce melancholic indie tracks. driven by his love for the audiovisual experience, raka takes on the roles of producer and director for several of their music videos.since 2018, he has deeply immersed himself in film and writing studies. beyond writing his own films, he also composes original soundtracks, creating a seamless harmony between narrative and acoustic storytelling. his compositions have also been featured in films by other filmmakers.
in 2019, he directed his debut short film, anna, which follows a young girl's journey to overcome her fears. the following year, he embarked on his most ambitious and personal project to date, am see (by the lake), exploring the delicate balance between music, family responsibilities, and personal duty. shortly after, he ventured into eat your rice, a humorous take on an indonesian proverb, while simultaneously experimenting with the art of filmmaking itself.
currently, raka is actively developing his upcoming short film project, angelus lapsus. the project is still in pre-production, and he welcomes collaboration with passionate filmmakers across all departments. if you share a love for the craft and are interested in working together, feel free to reach out.
